new products
In between having fun days out and stepping over the growing Lego mountain in my lounge, I have managed to get a bit of making done. I love the new cushion design in all its dotty splendour!
This is an example of my name canvases. These have evolved into what I think is a great product and I love chosing the fabrics and buttons to make them up. I offer customers a choice of fabrics and can usually accommodate any requests for their favourite colours.
I'm going to be doing a Christmas version of these canvases and if I ever get my laptop back into working order I'll be able to get on with them. Argh!
What have you been working on lately?

Surviving the school holidays - just!
Well how's it going so far? We are on the home stretch now and into the last week. Seven weeks is a long time! We have been having lots of fun and visiting places, Legoland included. We spent ages in miniland where the models of places around the world are. The space shuttle launch was worth waiting for according to my 6 year old.
Look at that! Megafobia - the best wooden rollercoaster in the UK, apparently! I'm not know for my love of rollercoasters but managed to brave this one at Oawood theme park. I even managed to totally scare myself silly by going on Speed. My friend totally loved it and we had a great laugh at the photo of us together on the ride afterwards: I was looking terrified and she was screaming in delight. And, no, I didn't buy it!
We had a camping trip to the New Forest and took a look around Salisbury (photo of the cathedral cloisters above). The other half used to work in Salisbury so it was nice revisiting places for him and experiencing new ones for me. There are lots of wild horses in the New Forest and I had been going on about not leaving food in the tent. Needless to say I managed to forget my own rules and managed to wander off to watch the other half and my son playing frisbeee, leaving the door open to everyone. A little horse decided to wander into the tent and proceeded to lick the butter! The cheeky little thing's rear end was sticking out of the tent when I got back! Oh if only I had my camera.
There's less than a week left of the school holidays so we now have the usual mad scramble for new shoes and uniform. When he's back in school I'll be able to show you some of the things I've been working on. Fab new Christmas decoration designs, stockings and Christmas cards.
What have you been getting up to this summer? Tell me about your sunny holidays. I've forgotten what the sun looks like!

nellie dean's giveaway - finally!
If anyone is still reading - hello! Yet more apologies for an unscheduled abscence, this time caused by a dead laptop. The husband is out for a while so I've hopped onto his computer to finally post the details of my giveaway. I hope you won't be disappointed by my giveaway after all this time.
So, what is up for grabs? Well, to start we have two Orla Kiely bags from Tesco. I'm sure you've all seen them before but they are fab, really strong and versatile. I use mine for groceries, swimming, picnics. Basically, most things! I've managed to get one in the pear design and one in the grey geometric design.
What's next? Some magazines. We have a copy of Selvedge from Jan/Feb 2010 and the first issue of Mollie Makes which comes complete with the felt kit on the front. Mollie Makes is a new magazine which has been a runaway success. I have read countless blogs and mentions on Facebook about it. It is a great read, full of inspiring ideas and photos of beautiful workspaces. I also intended to giveaway a copy of Marie Claire Idees but I cant' find it now. If I find it in time from the depths of my workroom I will throw that in too.
Finally we have a little selection of pretty ribbons and a few items made by me. In no particular order: one metre of jumbo red ric rac, one metre aqua ribbon, one metre of red cotton ribbon and ten metres of aqua baker's twine. Items made by me are: 6 fabric covered buttons in red spotty cotton, a pink lavender bird and a wool felt brooch.
Phew! That's all folks, I hope it was worth the wait. If you would like to be in with a chance of getting your sticky fingers on that lot then you need to be a follower of this blog. You can get another entry by liking me on Facebook Let me know by leaving a comment on this post when you've followed/liked and I will put your name into the (imaginary) hat. If you already follow me on here or like my Facebook page thank you and let me know and I will enter you too!
I will close the draw and pick a name on Sunday 10th July at 8pm ish. Good luck and please spread the word!

apologies
I'm having problems logging into Blogger and therefore I can't post up the details of the giveaway. I am posting this from my phone and don't fancy doing a full post on this tiny keyboard!
Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly. Hang on in there! If it's any consolation this extra time is giving me time to think of extra goodies to include :-)
EDIT: Yee har, I'm in! Thanks to the lovely Jenny for suggesting that I use a different browser. Happy days!

giveaway news and craft fair essentials
I thought it was high time we had a little giveaway on this blog! I have a few things put aside and will be posting a blog post about it later in the week. I have had some good luck with Facebook giveaways and blog competitions last week so I thought I'd return the favour in my own small way.
Come back later to find out what goodies are on offer and follow the blog to enter!
Do you like my craft fair money apron? I've been meaning to make one of these for so long and it took a fellow craft fair trader requesting one for me to actually get round to it. You can of course buy these commercially but I wanted a pretty apron to keep my cash safe and not lying in a tin on the table. I have included a pocket to insert business cards and a separate section for pens. Then there are two generously sized pockets for cash and note books, etc.
These are available to buy from my Folksy shop here Let me know what you think about them!
